Following a successful Series C, October raised a total of €51 million from top investors mixing a venture capital fund, insurance companies, an asset manager, successful entrepreneurs, and a family-owned bank.

What you will be doing

As an Outside Sales Executive, you will be responsible for generating business for October Italia:

  • Develop the October brand value by translating our value proposition into financing SME companies, through partnership networks and directly; 
  • Take responsibility for a portfolio of existing and prospective Major Business Introducers and Strategic Partnerships;
  • Develop the flow of financing opportunities through the acquisition of borrowers through major business introducer networks as determined by the Country Head of Sales in accordance with Risk Management and Credit underwriting policies;
  • In collaboration with the Country Head of Sales, contribute to building and managing (incl. selection, training, and regular review) partnerships with identified major business introducers and strategic corporations and networks;
  • Accompany Introducers in their prospecting, deal structuring and closing activities;
  • Meet and exceed the quantitative targets (e.g.: volume of deals, number of deals, pricing, contact strategy with introducers and prospects/direct customers);
  • Work with Outside Sales Coordination function to document, submit to underwriting and close approved deals;
  • Be an active interface with all other functions including credit and operations to meet deadlines and qualitative targets for optimized customer experience;
  • Represent October as required at external events;
  • Ensure full use of CRM in accordance with company requirements;
  • Ensure all activities are conducted with the highest level of integrity and compliance.

In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Sales of October Italia. You will enjoy strong support (continuous sharing of best practices) and leadership from the European Head of Sales and Sales team and will work closely together with the marketing, data and tech colleagues of October.

Essential experience

  • Preferably 5-7 years’ sales experience in Financial Services business development through introducers and equipment vendors;
  • Presence of an existing business network in Italy to generate deal flow;
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM would be an advantage.

Knowledge, skills and mindset

  • Demonstrated strong ‘B2B-solution sales skills’ in Financial Services (lending) environment e.g. leasing companies (non-captive), commercial finance, banks.
  • Excellent understanding of the SME sector acquired through an experience in banking, corporate financing advisory, PE, fundraising or consultancy;
  • Outstanding relationship building, and excellent written and oral communication skills (ability to lead a phone or video discussion/negotiation/closing);
  • Ability to operate independently and work in a team-oriented and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a digital mindset;
  • Strong organisational skills and a flexible attitude towards mobility in Italy;
  • Have a good blend of commercial acumen, tactical "know-how" and not be put off by rolling up your sleeves to get the job done;
  • Degree in economics, MBA or equivalent;
  • Italian native with professional capacities in English.
