At October, we're reinventing financing for small businesses. We're making loans easy, smart and fast, by creating a platform directly connecting companies and lenders, offering competitive rates and returns on both sides. October was founded in 2014. Since then, we raised more than €50m and lent €400M to more than 850 companies in France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany.

Tech at October 


We think reinventing financing is a massive tech challenge, that’s why we built October as a tech-centred startup.Today, the Tech, Data & Product teams (20 persons) are working on building the best financing experience ever made, very closely with the business. The team is growing fast and we want to reinforce our back and front end teams constantly.  We love JavaScript at October. That’s why every part of our stack is based on JS: we use Node.js and MongoDB on the back-end, EmberJS on the front-end, and React Native on mobile. The platform runs on Heroku and AWS. You can take a look at our whole stack on StackShare. We believe in ownership and mentoring at October. The way we work will deeply involve every developer from day-1.   


# Day to day


  • Write technical specifications for the features defined with the product team 
  • Write clean Node.js code with related tests
  • Help build a scalable infrastructure
  • Review code from other developers


# Requirements


  • At least 2 years of work experience in development
  • You’re fluent in JavaScript and have used Node.js before. 
  • You have used GitHub, Gitlab or Bitbucket before. 
  • You have knowledge of the code quality best practices (tests, continuous deployment, …) 
  • You speak English easily.


We follow a 3-steps interview process:


  1. First, a 20-minute call with our recruiter followed by a JavaScript home project (you have a week to complete it),
  2. Then, an hour-long interview with the CTO and a lead developer,
  3. Finally, an hour-long interview with our Project Tech Lead (with a conception exercise) who's also the right hand of our Founder.
